What's in an Avlea kit?

Each Avlea kit is made by hand in my studio in Central Oregon with specialty imported fabrics for an authentic folk embroidery stitching experience. I cut the fabric and serge the raw edges, then add hand-wound DMC embroidery floss, full-color charts, and a John James needle. My kits give you the opportunity to experience folk embroidery with the kind of fabrics that have been used for centuries.

  • I've fallen completely in love with your work! I'm in sr. leadership at one of the big tech companies, and my co-workers often gently tease me about my 'grandma' hobbies. But, now that I've started decorating my office with pieces from you, they are all astonished at how beautiful and timeless the works are!

  • It's been an absolute joy to stitch -- it's quick, easy, meditative, and I love the geometric designs that play with negative space.
