Welcome! I'm so glad you've discovered my folk embroidery designs and kits!

Many of my designs are inspired from traditional textiles from Greece, Italy, the Balkans, Scandinavia, Romania, Ukraine, and other countries in which folk embroidery has long been a cherished handcraft. I have been collecting and researching folk textiles for almost twenty years now, and one of the main goals of my work is to keep these historic designs alive for the next generation of stitchers.

As of August 2026, EU packaging rules require me to register and report in each member country, and I just can't afford this expensive registration, so I've chosen to serve my EU customers through PDF patterns.

As of September 1, 2026, I am no longer able to ship physical orders to the EU. My full range of PDF patterns is still available to you, and I'd love for you to stitch them.

If you'd like to see Avlea Folk Embroidery kits in your country, please contact your local fabric, needlework, or knitting shop and request they email me to set up a wholesale account. Wholesale orders are not subject to these same packaging rules and I have a small but growing number of EU shops carrying my designs.
