The Santorini Floral cross stitch folk embroidery PDF pattern is inspired by a vintage Greek embroidery, featuring colorful floral sprays set within a graceful blue border reminiscent of the iconic flowers and blue rooflines of Santorini. At the center, a compelling diamond-in-square motif ornamented with additional floral sprays anchors the whole design with a beautiful elegance. The palette is stunning: antique blue, deep shell pink, fresh green, alizarin, olive green, and turquoise create a fresh and modern look for this gorgeous vintage design. A wonderful way to experience the delight and charm of Greek folk embroidery!
The original embroidery that I took my inspiration from was stitched entirely in red on white: when I started playing around with the palette, I loved seeing how the different elements of the design really came to life when stitched in a multi-colored palette.

Historically-inspired, modern-made!
Avlea Folk Embroidery brings ancient beauty to the modern world with beautiful folk embroidery kits of the finest quality. I design and make each kit by hand in my Central Oregon studio, to give you a wonderful stitching experience no matter your skill level.
Why is folk fabric so special?
Folk fabrics have been used for hundreds of years to make folk costumes and household embroideries. When you work a cross stitch design on them, they give your stitching a beautiful texture and are a delight to stitch on, plus they're made to stand up to daily use. I source mine from a 3rd-generation family mill in Athens, Greece so you can have an authentic stitching experience.
