In ancient Greek, chloris meant “green buds” and the BitKit Chloris folk embroidery kit features a beautiful repeating design is make up of little flower buds outlined in green. Folk embroidery designs often utilize negative space and this design is a wonderful example with its little buds created out of the negative space set within a diamond lattice. True to its name, it is worked in a lovely shade of blue-green outlined in deep grey green. Kit includes: 30ct 100% cotton Mikini in white, DMC 100% cotton embroidery floss, John James size 24 needle, full color charts and instructions.

Folk fabrics have been used for hundreds of years to make folk costumes and household embroideries. When you work a cross stitch design on them, they give your stitching a beautiful texture and are a delight to stitch on, plus they're made to stand up to daily use. I source mine from a 3rd-generation family mill in Athens, Greece so you can have an authentic stitching experience.
