This tiny scrolled metallic trim comes from a small Greek mill and is a favorite finishing seen in many vintage Greek folk textiles. The metlalic thread is looped in delicate little scrolls that are connected with an antique gold accent. Available in either bright gold or dull gold, this charming trim is terrific for finishing pincushions, sewing to the perimeter of table runners, or adding a teeny bit of sparkle to your next project!

How to Use It
To embellish an embroidery, I recommend hand sewing trims after the embroidery is completely finished. Use small stitches and a lightweight sewing thread like Aurifil 50. Press to set after sewing.

The trims in my collection come from small mills in Greece where trims and laces have been made the same way for generations (some on machines that are almost 100 years old). I choose each one because it works with the folk embroidery traditions that inspire my patterns and because it holds up to daily use. New trims are added as I find them.

Why is folk fabric so special?

Folk fabrics have been used for hundreds of years to make folk costumes and household embroideries. When you work a cross stitch design on them, they give your stitching a beautiful texture and are a delight to stitch on, plus they're made to stand up to daily use. I source mine from a 3rd-generation family mill in Athens, Greece so you can have an authentic stitching experience.

What if I'm new to cross stitch?
