The Peloponnesian Poppies cross stitch folk embroidery PDF pattern features rows of Greek vases filled with stylized red poppies, worked in a classic palette of green and coral with accents of blue. The vase is one of the most enduring motifs in Greek art, appearing in ancient pottery long before it found its way into folk embroidery, and when I'm in New York, I always make a point of visiting the Greek antiquities cases at the Met Museum of Art to see them in person. There is something deeply satisfying about stitching a motif with such an enduring history.
